Manual point machines HWU40 and HWU42 - Basic

To be able to perform commissioning, regular inspection and repair work, transport authority staff need sound knowledge of the point machines installed.

Participants are first given a theoretical overview of the set-up and application area of the different drive variants of the point machines HWU40 and HWU 42; the function of the individual sub-assemblies and the safety requirements are explained.

The differences between operating modes throw-over and spring-back operation are explained; conversion from one to the other is demonstrated in the hands-on part of the workshop.

Maintenance work and inspection perBO Strab call for assessment of the point machines. Participants are informed what to look out for.

In the hands-on part of this intensive workshop, assembly and setting work are demonstrated on different point machines. A flat-bottom rail tongue device is available in our training centre for the purpose.

Protective footwear must be worn when doing setting work. Please bring your protective footwear with you.

This workshop convey fundamentals of point machines HWU 40 and HWU 42 and is also ideal to build on existing knowledge.
