N.E.U.denken, Changing over to SAP
Last year, we introduced our N.E.U.denken program which is HANNING & KAHL’s new sustainable, successful and extraordinary approach. This enables us to respond to the everincreasing pace at which market requirements develop with appropriate structures and processes.

In tram.news No. 96 at the beginning of 2021, we reported on reorganising our corporate structure into two new divisions (Infrastructure and Rolling Stock), focussing on improved alignment to customer needs and adjusting organisational structure correspondingly.
Parallel to this, we chased up the resulting requirements of the IT support for the processes in the different functional divisions of the company. As the company continuously grows, so too do volume and business-process complexity, calling for our IT landscape, which had ramified over the years and comprised a wide variety of software packages, to be replaced by one future-proof standard platform. Following an in-depth selection process, we decided to introduce SAP S/4HANA.
In keeping with our maxim N.E.U.denken, we completely realigned our in-house customer-order processing in the run-up to introduction of the new system. This was the basis for optimal mapping of processes in the new system. We thus created efficient standards for our corporate administrative processes. By consistently coordinating process support across all departments, we significantly accelerate all procedures. The resulting improved transparency on the progress status of our customer projects facilitates even more precise project control and more detailed communication between contact persons on both sides, in a manner which is more honed in on customer needs.
Employees of all corporate functions were involved in system selection and configuration for GoLive. This means that the entire expertise of our staff has flowed into the new processes. The many interdisciplinary coordination processes have also improved reciprocal understanding of the requirements of upstream and downstream processes at staff level. The result is an allround package of sustainable, successful re-organisation, processes, SAP system, and staff who have the tools to propel successful implementation of customer projects to ensure that HANNING & KAHL remains flexible in the future and to guarantee success in the market and in the competitive environment.
We thank you for your support and understanding, and we look forward to continuing our good working relationship. If you would like to know more, just email:
