Green Line for Jerusalem

The Green Line will be Jerusalem light rail’s second line alongside the Red Line. Construction started on the Green Line in 2018 with completion scheduled for 2025. By Christian Schulte

The 19.6 km (12.2 mi) Green Line will link the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and continue south via Pat junction to Gilo. It will have 35 stops and connect to the Red Line and the terminus of the Tel-Aviv-Jerusalem railway. 200,000 passengers are expected per day. 

HANNING & KAHL is supplying the hydraulic brake system and the mag-netic track brakes for the Urbos 100 vehicles made by Spanish tram builder CAF which will run on the Green Line. The Urbos 100 is a five-car vehicle with three motor bogies. All four wheels of each motor bogie are equipped with 380 mm x 50 mm brake discs and HYS252 spring-applied actuators. The actuators have an actuating force of 30 kN. The hydraulic pressure is generated with hydraulic devices of type HZY-K160-PR-NL. The hydraulic units come with brushless motors. 114 vehicles are to be supplied for the Green Line.
