C-Parts Management

C-parts management deals with the holistic optimisation of the procurement processes of C-parts in companies. The process costs ranging from demand determination, ordering and intralogistics to goods receipt and document processing have a greater influence on the total costs of C-parts procurement than the material costs. By Robert Dück

Therefore, our focus is on process optimisation, e.g. by using a supplier kanban system. At present, we work with the el/ka/sy from P.S. Cooperation with 175 integrated materials and 2 suppliers. The current system will be increased to 750 materials and 31 suppliers in combination with a new concept and optimisation of the procurement process. The new concept will eliminate any identified process malfunctions of the current system. It primarily addresses problems such as insufficient master data maintenance, a lack of monitoring and faulty stock placement.

The new concept includes the introduction of a C-parts coordinator. The C-parts coordinator is responsible for master data maintenance, monitoring material movements and the implementation of dynamic optimisation suggestions. The tasks are supported by the new dashboard from P.S. Cooperation. C-parts must not trigger any bottleneck situations in production. This is a goal we have set ourselves and which we will achieve with the new concept. In addition, we will increase productivity through improved handling in the assembly lines and reduce procurement costs for C-parts. The selection of suppliers and purchasing conditions will remain the responsibility of HANNING & KAHL's purchasing department, while P.S. Cooperation is responsible for monitoring delivery dates, incoming goods as well as filling and stocking the C-parts warehouse. Any material requirements are autonomously transmitted to the linked suppliers using RFID technology once a load carrier needs to be refilled.

We started with 295 materials and 2 suppliers in the first week of May and will integrate additional suppliers and materials once the process is secured. The logistics department and the C-parts coordinator actively support the introduction of the C-parts management. Thank you very much for the good cooperation.
