GEZ Rail Solutions expands in the USA
The expansion of the North-Rhine Westphalian company GEZ Rail Solutions (Dinslaken/Gladbeck) into the USA has marked a significant milestone in the company’s international growth. by Thore Krey, GEZ Rail Solution
GEZ Rail Solutions (GEZ-RS), which specialises in rail technology and equipment, wishes to step up sales of their expertise and technologies on the North American market. The company had already been active in Monterrey Mexico in conjunction with a modernization project in the past years.
Expansion into the USA is of strategic importance for GEZ Rail Solutions to be able to offer their signature customer service.
The GEZ-RS range includes: step systems / door systems, front lights, energy supply for rail vehicles, customized electric solutions / equipment and components for rail transport mainly for refurbishment purposes but also as completely new fittings.
To achieve this expansion in best possible manner, GEZ Rail Solutions fell back on longstanding partner companies.
One of their longstanding partners is the HANNING & KAHL LP in Bridgeport, Philadelphia. Both companies have also been successfully working together for more than 20 years in the North Rhine-Westphalian railway technology association, (Bahntechnik NRW e.V.), and also on operative projects in the USA.
GEZ Rail Solutions will be based in Pennsylvania. The northeast of the USA is an attractive region with many different plus points and opportunities for rail transport providers.
The northeast of the USA is densely populated with some of the country‘s most populous cities, including New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. This generates a high demand for rail-transit service, in particular for commuter transport.
The region has well-developed rail infrastructure which facilitates access to major traffic corridors and cities. The northeast is well connected with other transportation links such as airports, roads and sea ports, making it easier to transport freight and passengers.
Cooperation and good working relationships between medium-sized companies help to further strengthen the presence of German rail experts in North America and to establish their innovative technology on a major global rail transportation market.
