The North Rhine-Westphalian Railway Technology Association, (Bahntechnik NRW e.V.) 25 Years of Innovation and Co-operation in the Railway Sector

November 3 marked the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the North Rhine-Westphalian railway technology association, (Bahntechnik NRW e.V.), and the association’s members and partners gathered to celebrate. For a quarter of a century, this association has been playing a decisive role in the development and advancement of railway technology in North Rhine-Westphalia. by Sigrid Riewe-Scholz

With 14 committed member companies, Bahntechnik NRW e. V. is more than just an association – it is a dynamic network which coordinates various activities. From marketing and sales to customer support, the association covers a wide spectrum. One strong point is open communication allowing the member companies to share their experiences. This facilitates early recognition of market trends and has proven successful since 2008.

The association functions as a hub for medium-sized companies which have specialized in the development, production and sale of vehicle components, infrastructure, and control technology for the rail industry. Some member companies also offer specialised services.

Bahntechnik NRW e. V.’s primary goal is to strengthen and expand the railway technology sector in North Rhine-Westphalia as a significant economic force by intensive networking among the member companies. At the same time, the association engages in PR and dialogue with scientists and politicians in order to highlight and optimally use the huge innovation potential of the different railway technologies.

Looking back on a quarter of a century of successful work, Bahntechnik NRW e. V. remains true to its goal of promoting innovation and co-operation in the railway sector. At a time of rapid technological change and ongoing challenges, this association plays a decisive role in the rail-transport sector of North Rhine-Westphalia and beyond.
