What’s New in the Infrastructure Division

HANNING & KAHL’s goal is to optimize products and applications, reduce interfaces and advance interdepartmental teamwork with new organizational structures in the Infrastructure Division in order to successfully master the challenges of growing market demands. You, our partners and customers, profit from our flexible approach and customised solutions. by Jens Meinecke

ConnAct® news

With a view to optimising products and applications and reducing interfaces, HANNING & KAHL incorporated the VABtrack product range from its subsidiary Verkehrsautomatisierung Berlin on 01.10.2023.

From now on, all functionalities of VABtrack will be integrated into the Infrastructure Division’s ConnAct® - which means you get our products and applications from one source. These integrated solutions are developed and distributed by HANNING & KAHL and maintained and serviced by our Service team.

Our ConnAct® system comprises process visualisation, technical monitoring and remote operation of track infrastructure. It can detect changes and possible faults in your customers‘ systems at an early stage so that appropriate measures can be initiated, thus minimizing the time and effort spent on upkeep and maintenance. As critical states are identified in good time, your customers profit from greater availability.

The VABtrack team Frank Ilge, Ingmar Lötzsch, Hubert Riester and Stephan Eisner will be joining and bolstering HANNING & KAHL’s Infrastructure Division.

Verkehrsautomatisierung Berlin’s other product ranges remain unchanged.

Decentralised RAMS safety management and efficient design engineering

As of October, the RAMS safety management team in the Infrastructure Division has been working at a new level. Team decentralisation enables direct collaboration with project planning and the technical departments ensuring maximum effectiveness. Direct communication between the team members guarantees optimum transfer of knowledge – without loss of independence in the verification process. This accelerates certification attainment up to SIL4 in accordance with CENELEC 5012x for our products and services.

Our design engineering department for signalling installations started working in two formidable teams in September. The “Signalling Technology Hardware Design Engineering” team lays the foundation for the control systems by preparing production-relevant documents like parts lists and circuit diagrams. The “Signalling Technology Application” team then completes the applications of the controllers and signalling installations with their software design. Both teams work with an overarching multi-project management tool in order to use the resources for the large number of projects as effectively as possible.

Our Infrastructure Division is delighted about your confidence in our technology and looks forward to continuing the excellent working relationship we enjoy with you our partners and customers. The steady expansion of our Division will empower us to master the new challenges of the market today and tomorrow.
