ConnAct®: The future-proof all-in-one solution for transportation infrastructure

With ConnAct®, HANNING & KAHL has created a modern system which offers a comprehensive solution for process visualisation, technical monitoring and remote operation of track infrastructure installations. As of 01.10.2023, the former VABtrack product line has been integrated into ConnAct®, whereby all functions are now available in a structured and uniform system in order to cater for the constantly growing requirements of transportation infrastructure. ConnAct® stands for flexibility and modularity and offers tailored solutions for different applications in the transport sector. The modules of the system offer a wide range of functions. The HLUmulti (Hanning Local Unit) controller offers the possibility of wireless VPN-encrypted data transmission and makes local controllers quasi “ready for ConnAct®“.  It is now part of the standard scope of supply and can be retrofitted on existing installations.

ConnAct® Product variants

ConnAct® - Local visualisation control cabinet: enables direct visualisation and monitoring of the technology on site, for example in control cabinets, to efficiently control system status.

ConnAct® - Service laptop: offers mobile access for technical support and maintenance which greatly simplifies remote maintenance and diagnosis of infrastructure components.

ConnAct® - Online monitoring: enables central monitoring and control of infrastructure installations in network control centres. Malfunctions and changes can be detected in good time and corresponding measures taken. One good example is the central monitoring of train-protection installations and point controllers for Städtische Verkehrsbetriebe Zwickau (SVZ). With the newly developed “side-by-side” windows function, you can arrange the individual track images for the live display of line happenings next to each other and thus keep them all in view simultaneously. 

ConnAct® - Depot: especially designed for depots. This product variant enables the visualisation and control of vehicle movements. The newly developed function “Automatic route request to final parking place” is used in Bremen-Gröpelingen. It optimises shunting operations as the workshop dispatcher plans parking places for vehicles in advance, and the system automatically reacts when a vehicle leaves the workshop.
