Successful Projects and Encouraging Order Intake in the Infrastructure Division
The Infrastructure Division looks ahead to a successful phase with new activities, cooperation agreements, and trend-setting projects and orders. At the InnoTrans in September in Berlin, HANNING & KAHL showcased innovative products and versatile application options, tailored for operators of rail-based public transport. By Jens Meinecke
The Infrastructure Division’s order-book situation is very good. Talks at the InnoTrans evidenced our current success and our strong market presence: the systems and applications we offer – including point controllers, signaling installations, point machines and vehicle-detection systems – convince operators with high availability and fulfillment of global safety requirements. Our comprehensive product range is rounded off by in-depth customised project planning and reliable service, which includes spare-part supply. The high demand and the growing number of new challenges further strengthen the position of the Infrastructure Division.
Successful contractual agreement with Austrian Federal Railways ÖBB
HANNING & KAHL has signed a new framework agreement with the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) for the supply of point machines of the H715 series. The contract has an eight-year term from 2024 to 2032. With a supply share of over 40% of the total volume tendered, we are expanding our significant market share at ÖBB. The high availability and coherent technology of the H715 were convincing factors.
Test station for point machine H715
Our test station for point machine H715 has been extensively modernized in order to further optimize measuring and testing processes. Measurements on the test station are based on the evaluation of our HZM force-measuring device which has been certified by DB Q1 and is deployed directly in tracks by many operators worldwide. The new test station significantly contributes to quality assurance and ensures that each point machine of the H715 series is delivered in perfect working order.
Expansion in Great Britain and Ireland
We have signed an important agency agreement with Fenix Rail Systems Ltd. (England). This partnership will envisage Fenix, as system integrator, implementing HANNING & KAHL technology in mainline depots as well as heavy rail and intermodal facilities in Great Britain and Ireland in the coming years and is a significant milestone in our international expansion.
