The latest issue of tram.news arrived on Saturday, 18/10.  The Magdeburg article by Kay Kloecker was most interesting.  Such a major renewal and putting the controls under ground were great.  However, there was a slip up that, I suspect has been pointed out by other readers.  I don’t know what Kay wrote in German, but the layout of the Hasselbachplatz junction is only ¾ of a grand union not a ‘full grand union’ as the English text states.  The overhead photo clearly shows the layout and the inset photo of the portable controller also shows it as ¾.

Thanks for the 50 years story as well.  I was in Rheine in May 1975 and remember all the rail fans who were there for the last runs of the 012’s.
