ConnAct® boosts mobility in Karlsruhe
For technicians involved in maintaining technical systems, their main area of expertise is identifying and eliminating faults and ensuring they do not occur again. Solid training, the appropriate tools and a pleasant working environment are the keys to success here. However, this is often easier said than done. By Jan Rehburg
Therefore, the question is: how can HANNING & KAHL meet this challenge and provide the best possible support to its partners?
When it comes to training, HANNING & KAHL offers courses from its training workshop program, which can also be conducted directly on site.
In respect of tools, HANNING & KAHL provides diagnostic instruments and tool kits as well as the aids needed to efficiently analyse and deal with faults.
However, creating a good working environment is an especially important aspect. This doesn’t mean height-adjustable desks or traditional employee benefits – rather, it’s about ensuring that every task can be completed to the highest standard.
ConnAct® is a key tool in this regard. It enables point controllers and signalling installations to be read out remotely. This is especially practical in cities with high traffic volumes, as a fault can already be diagnosed in the workshop and the right spare part taken along without losing minutes or even hours going back and forth multiple times.
Another step is the conclusion of a service agreement in combination with remote access by HANNING & KAHL. With this in place, the customer service team can assist immediately when questions arise and provide quick and straightforward help during troubleshooting.
Further benefits of remote access can be seen in the configuration of standardised industry PCs. These can be kept at the customer’s premises as spare parts and then configured for the respective application by a remote technician if necessary, without spending days waiting for a replacement to arrive.
One current example is the ConnAct® connection of VBK Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe GmbH. In recent years, all new controllers there have come equipped with a ConnAct® connection. At VBK, the controllers are securely connected through a fibre-optic network, where available, or alternatively via SIM card. The company intends to connect all systems to ConnAct® in the coming years so that their status can be determined directly from the workshop.
Access to the HANNING & KAHL fault management system is also included in a maintenance agreement. Problems and requests can be submitted directly there. The employee dealing with any matter and the respective processing status are then visible at all times in the portal.
All in all, the connection via ConnAct® is another means of improving workflows and speeding up fault resolution.
