We attach the utmost importance to ensuring the reliability and safety of our products and maximising rail vehicle availability. That’s why we don’t simply offer a comprehensive service portfolio – we also provide a wide range of testing and service equipment that we develop and manufacture for our customers and for use in our own production processes. By Eelco Hoedemaker

Quality assurance begins right from the moment a new product takes shape: in the laboratory, components and functions are tested, analysed and enhanced at an early stage. This is how we lay the foundations for reliable products and safe operation over many years.

To use this expertise in an even more targeted manner, we have brought together know-how from different departments in one central team within the Rolling Stock Division. This allows us to deploy knowledge and experience across the entire product life cycle – from the initial development, commissioning and servicing through to the final general overhaul, which may often take place decades later.

This pooling of expertise also enables us to start development and testing processes at an early stage, to simplify interfaces and to make processes more efficient. At the same time, we can design and implement new functionalities – both digital and analogue – more quickly with our partners.

We showcased one initial result of this new pooling of expertise at InnoTrans: the new generation of our filter flushing unit. And that’s only the beginning – further innovative testing and service equipment as well as new functionalities are already in development.
